pumpkin cooking

The past few weeks have been full of cooking and baking. Olga (our new roomate) cooked us a traditional Russian dinner the other night, it was fabulous!

Then I made pumpkin bread, and pie!

yee-haw industries

You might have heard of these guys already. They have been bubbling up in the design world for awhile now, and I just got my hands on a 2009 calendar, thanks to Amanda Jaffe's eye. How perfect for me, right?

Site here.

Keep (again)

I've written of this fantasic company before- and the shoes I wanted from them went on sale (so i'll be purchasing tomorrow!) But also new- is their clothing line. This dress is beautiful.

They also have come out with rainboots! so cute!

Your Message Here

So apparently, the company I work for does this cool thing where they invite artists to do installations in the windows facing the Institute of Contemporary Art, here in Philly. For the next 2 months, it's Something's Hiding in Here. With a project called "Your Message Here".

You can leave a comment on the blog with a short saying, and they pick their favorites to be displayed, changing each day! Here is my favorite so far..

sex and the city

So I wanted to see the movie when it came out, but I never got around to it. I decided I wanted to watch some of the show first, because I had never seen it. My good friend lindsey has all 6 seasons on dvd, and she kindly let me borrow them. We started off with a girl night of wine and snacks. Since then I have been working on b's birthday present while watching.

I'm hooked emotionally, but also so taken back by most of the show. I can't really imagine ever living like that- even though i know most of the world does. I also think about how many women who watched that show think that is reality. They deal with their issues in such weird/unhealthy ways. It also makes me miss b.

I had a nice laid back weekend. Welcome Fall- it's the first official day today. I think Fall is my very favorite season. It's good to stay in and cook warm food, and bake all of the time, and snuggle with b. Its a new season, and with that comes change. My friend Olga will be moving in with Haley and I for a few months, and she has a dog as well. Kashi will have a play mate for awhile which will be nice.

Here is an oldy but a goody of Kashi and I out on a crisp fall day with Weegie before we started dating. It feels good to remember last year this time. Its when I first met b!

lewes, de

My roomate haley took me to her hometown this weekend, for a little get away. Besides meeting her sweet family, i got to spend some time out of the city, in a teeny tiny town, with beautiful houses, and cute little stores. I had a great weekend, but definitely appreciate the hustle-bustle of the city.

The night we got in, we went to a little pizza place called Half Full. We split a super yummy margarhita pizza, and i even drank a glass of wine. oh la la

Then we got home made ice cream, in the tiniest cones you've ever seen!! so cute! My ice cream fell off the cone twice :(

The next day, on the way to her grandad's we stopped by the walk about farm, and saw llama's, cow-ish animals with huge horns, and emus! This one emu, walked right on over to us, and i thought i would pet him, but he was being a little aggresive, so i took a step back. No-Fear Haley stepped right on up, and he totally hissed at her! He was definitely evil, and my heart was beating so hard. I thought he was going to jump the fence and attack us. so glad we got out safe.

I'm glad to be home.

booooots

I'm looking for a new pair of black boots for this winter. The pair I have are years old, a little too big, and wearing thin. I'm in love with this pair from Steve Madden. I think I might have to treat myself..

I also like this pair, but only in this color..

along the way..

Coming home, and being around family does alot for me. Its been a year since I have seen my mom, and 4 of my siblings. I love them, and miss seeing them, so its nice to be around them, and see them grown up. It's also amusing to see how different i am than my entire family- but where i also get some of my characteristics. I love my mornings because my mom is up @ the crack of dawn every morning..(i am writing you this blog @ 7:45am on my vacation..) and the only peace and quiet you can get in this house is in the morning.

California has been awesome so far. We flew into San Diego, and went to see Weegie's sister. She is awesome! She was such a great host, and we had so much fun doing a TON of stuff in 2 days. We took a boat out to this island of the coast of Mexico, so they could go scuba diving. I snorkeled around, and tried not to get seasick. on the way back, we saw some dolphins, so we all jumped in and swam around with them. It was so cool! I won't tell you everything, so i have something to talk about when we get back..

Here are a few pictures of the trip so far. Everyday that we have together, is one day less i have with b before he leaves. Im going to need some distractions when i get back this weekend!

I miss philly!
