I only met Parker once, but found his flickr, where he does a polaroid of the day, and i love following them! This one is particularly lovely.

summer time=tattoos

i've been thinking/wanting a new tattoo and for some reason this popped into my head the other day. that's kind of how tattoos work for me. I've always ever had arm tattoos, but i'm considering moving somewhere else, like my calves? Lois, Leann, and Jaffe have tattoos on their calves that I love, and think look super awesome. My graphic design skills are lacking (seriously, a girl uses power point) but you get the idea? A cool wooden frame, cross stitch, and not necessarily the bird house, but maybe just a house. thoughts? opinions? mom- i already know how you feel so you don't have to respond. :)

Land

After brunch one Sunday, while my friend Curtis was in town, we all headed to mississippi to walk around and hang out. We wandered into Land, a gallery and retail space that had some cool stuff. The exhibition upstairs was soooooo cool! Right up my alley. West, by Sarah Baugh and Nicole Lavelle.

Get ready..

its the night of mega blogging, you know..to catch you up.

First of all, it's been GORGEOUS here in Portland for the past week. I've most definitely had a bathing suit on, shorts, laid in the sun, and ridden in the car with my windows down. perfect. I know I show you my bridge all the time, but it's so stunning, and still 3 months in, I love crossing it everyday on my way to work.



I grew up seeing Mt. Rainier as a kid, and it is so so so so so awesome to be able to see Mt. Hood, and Mt. Saint Helens, and Mt. Adams on clear days.

life, man

so right around the time i moved here, my skin was irritated, probably from the new pollens in the air, or something. It's continually gotten worse, to the point where I can't sleep because it's so itchy, and im generally uncomfortable all the time. But, since I just had my 3 month Portlandversary, I now have insurance again, and made about a million dr's appointments. yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa for health.

I've been thinking about new tattoos, and LOVING the weather. I wore shorts today, and spent a few hours laying in the backyard with Adam and Kashi. Glorious Sunday if you ask me. I also made the BEST peanut butter cookies in all of life. seriously. perfect. Then I went to our once a month gathering for Bread and Wine, and potlucked it up.

Life is good, man.

status change

it's been a week since ive blogged. geez. i've been busy..you know, falling head over heels for someone. go ahead, laugh..some of you told me I couldn't do it, and yes you were right.

I came here, with the intentions of not getting involved with men for all of 2010. This was my decision, one I didn't (stupidly) bring before God, before making. All my other one year challenges have been simple (still challenging) but giving up meat for a year didn't really change the course or direction of my life. I felt like I made this decision selfishly, and instead of allowing God to heal me, love me, provide for me, I told him " no, I'm going to do this thing.." Overall, it was all about me, when that sort of decision should have been all about God. I've been hurt, and was at a point of total frustration, so I gave up, or took myself out of the equation. What I failed to realize is God is much bigger than that, and He wasn't having any of my 2010, year of no men.

Enter Adam.

Adam is from Connecticut, and went to school with Goat, and Matt Bruno. Matt and Mae were out here visiting in the beginning of January, and I met Adam a few times that week they were here. Him and Kielly and I all got along, so the 3 of us started to hang out. I was dead set on not getting involved, so I didn't even consider it. He says he liked me within the first hour of meeting me. Things start to brew. Several weeks later, and lots of hanging out later..He tells me how he feels, at this point I can't deny having feelings for him, but am still set on completing my 1 year. He didn't let that stop him, and kept on being the sweetest, most understanding, wonderful friend, with other intentions in mind :)

I prayed, I thought, I talked, and in the end, I was letting my selfish decision stand in the way of something good and beautiful. I let go of it, and have not stopped smiling since. I'm totally smitten. the end.

yosemite

I'm already dreaming about spring/summer and all the fun new adventures I am going to go on. Someone is desperately wanting to float down the river, so that will be our #1 priority. I want to go to Yosemite. Nick Meek makes me want to go even more.

i guess i don't really consider myself "preppy", or the type of girl who wears tailored things. BUT- I secretly love J Crew. What started as a love for wedding gowns with pockets, has turned into a fantasy life where I wear chino shorts, and button downs. I WISH. I got their new catalog the other day and actually want a couple things, that I think I could pull off, also- what an awesome selection of simple bathing suits (yes im thinking about it already) with UNDERWIRES! I can never find underwire bathing suits that aren't mom-ish, or slutty (victoria I'm looking at you) These are so cute!

weird to think about a year ago

i was still in a serious 1+ year long relationship. i had SHORT hair. I was working for John, I lived in Philly..hmm..weird. also..sometimes i look like a bug. for realz.

So I've always had some Tom Waits on my computer..a little of this, a little of that. When I saw Mates of State last year, they covered one of his songs, and i immediately got everything I could of his. I was never able to find a recording of their cover, but thanks to Starbucks, its on their valentine's compilation. hooray! i love when things come together like that.

missing out

i had a long weekend, and forgot all about blogging. oops. so im in love with all the new free people stuff. we're really going back to our roots, and its amazing. I want to be this girl:



I have a jacket that is almost exactly like this one, and some over the knee boots, although I think I want another pair. So all I need is the romper.



I've also had my eye on this since it came out in the December catalog. I bought it tonight, $29.95?? How could I resist?!
