Dreams

I just left work, an awesome day. We're ending September on a high note and entering my FAVORITE month of the year (possibly has to do with my birth..) my favorite fleetwood song just came on the radio and the sun is shining...what more could I ask for?? Oh, a promotion?! Yep! I officially got promoted to the new Walnut st store opening in center city, Philadelphia this January. It's very exciting, and I couldn't be more happy and thankful. Here's me in front of the store (under construction)!!!!!

It's time for another round of dating horrors.

I met this guy a few months ago, and we had a really great time together. He was a friend of a friend so I figured it was pretty safe. We live in different cities, about 5 hours away, so we spent the first couple of weeks getting to know each other after the initial week together talking via gmail, text and a couple of phone conversations. We had plans to meet up in NYC for a couple of days, and the week leading up to it it went from:

meeting up in NYC
most likely seeing each other
possibly crossing paths
"I don't want to make any plans, I just want to let my spirit animal guide me"

WTF!!!!!!! And he teased me about being a hippie?? Goodbye, sir!

***we've since chatted and made amends, and will remain "friends" (aka I probably won't ever talk to him again)

I can't stop listening to 70's disco music. On repeat. This song.

WHY ARE MY FRIENDS SO TALENTED?!? I wish my talents were tangible like this. Anyway..my friend Lina was a graphic and prints designer at Free People for the past year, and recently left to pursue a freelance career. She is challenging herself to a drawing a day of what inspires her. I want to frame them all on my walls. seriously.
Check out her tumblr here.

hang time

Summer is coming to a close and I love my new house. It's been hang central, and I'm loving it. I went to a pizza party on Monday at my friends house. We all brought toppings and made a million different pizzas. Here's me drinking my gin&tonic. Feels like Fall and I couldn't be happier. Spiked cider!!!!!

Now that Sarah is happily off the market, I haven't heard many good dating stories lately. Then I realized it's because they are happening to me. Men. Are. Ridiculous. I've yet to meet one that didn't make me go "what????" I think I'll start chronicling my tales here. I hope Colleen joins. She has some good ones too. First up: Josh the Goon.

I woke up the other morning to a facebook chat I had missed while sleeping. It was simple and to the point. It was from a co-worker I knew at Urban back in 2005.

Let's just say I didn't reply. unfriend. le sigh..

what up weekend?

I worked, moved, then worked some more this appropriately titled weekend. Lucky for me I have a few days off towards the end of the week and will be escaping to NYC. Fashion's Night Out is in it's 3rd year and I'll be partaking in the city wide extravaganza with my lovely lady friend Andrea!

I'm loving my new house, and my new roommate, and can't wait to have you over for breakfast, or dinner, or a drink in our adorable back yard.

I spent a couple days last week at the Home Office for a Holiday meeting. All the store managers flew in from all over the country and it was SO fun to see all the girls I used to work with on the West Coast and meet all the new girls out here who I haven't met yet.

Summer is the season to be single. It definitely gets harder when the weather changes..all i want is to snuggle. I'm going to put a lot of time and effort into baking this fall. I want to master bread.

Weird current of thoughts for the day...

quick thought

if and when I settle into a relationship again, I'd like to date a man who knows his way around the kitchen. I personally love to bake, and love the idea of cooking all the time, but also love the idea of being cooked for. Coming home from a long day to someone making you dinner. Sounds like a dream.
